I'm Dan Heck. I founded Mercatr after a decade as a VC investor, most recently as a Partner at and . I supported nearly $100M of investment into 23 companies, seeing thousands of pitches and sitting in dozens of board meetings along the way. I'm proud that those companies are now collectively valued at more than $11B.
I started Mercatr to bring institutional-caliber strategic support to Seed - Series B founders, without the vested interests that often show up in the advice you get from employees or people already on your cap table. Building on my experience and network, I work with founders to close fundraises, establish financial clarity, and make better decisions on hiring, product strategy, and board management.
Outside of building Mercatr, I love reading 📚, trying new restaurants 🍽, traveling ✈️, and spending time with my wife and young son 👪.
